Our Introductory Self Defence program is specifically for people who want to learn effective self defence techniques.

We take the time to go through a private lesson with you so we can understand your needs. We are fully present with you and our intention is to share our knowledge, understanding and empower you to find your super powers.

Once you complete your private lesson you can join our group classes. Everyone in our school learns in a fun and safe environment.

We base our program on the techniques of Taekwondo, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling.

In this program, we will teach you how to neutralize the most common attacks ranging from having your hair grabbed to being pinned to the ground by an assailant.

Each lesson addresses different techniques. You can start the program at any time and learn at your own pace. Unlike most self defence systems that rely heavily on strength, speed, and coordination, the techniques in our program employ leverage, technique, and timing, so anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability, can make them work against larger opponents.

Our self defence style is about using what generally works for smaller framed people so it's perfect for all body types.

2. Attend Your Private Lesson

Your private lesson is our special time with you so we can understand your needs. We are fully present with you and our goal is to help you feel confident in your new skills.

Once you're confident with some key skills we book your group class with other participants of similar skill levels.

3. Attend Your Group Class

Your group class is designed to help you test your new skills with other people. The more people you practice with the better you retain your new skills.

4. Decide if training with us is right for you

If you enjoy your introductory course, we highly recommend joining as a member. Members enjoy the ability to train with other like minded students and continue the journey to self mastery and empowerment.

Book the Introductory Course and if you don't love it, we will give your money back.

You'll simply need to let us know in writing and voila your money back in your account.

Recognised as the expert in Self Defence and was featured on Channel 10's, The Project and on The House of Wellness on Channel 7.

Self Defence Hub was founded in January 2014 by Andre Coñate, who has an extraordinary passion for women's empowerment and safety.

Looking at the Australian national statistics of crimes (particularly against women) Andre felt she had to do something to be of service to those in need of learning valuable self defence skills. Having studied martial arts for over 25 years she felt that she was the most qualified person to bring this empowering environment to life. She wanted everyone to feel safe and capable of self protection if any situation called for it.

So, you can have complete confidence that she will take you though each step with thorough guidence and expert knowledge. There are no egos in the group. She supports each member to empower themselves and others.
