What to expect from this 2hr Short Self Defence course -
- We teach you basic self-defence moves that you can put into practice right away.
- You will train with a small beginner’s group for a more personalised and thorough experience.
- We focus on relevant and realistic street-smart self-defence.
- Freedom to ask questions as we go so you get the answers you need and don’t get lost in the group.
Is there a female instructor?
Yes, head instructor Andre Conate will be running this course. She is a female instructor with over 25 years in the martial arts industry. There will be no males at this event. This is a closed women's only event.
Is there any contact in this class?
There is precision striking on training pads and bags. During this workshop we wil be testing self defence moves so there is some contact with others in the program. There will also be light contact if we go through basic knife defence but there is no point in the class that you will be hurt.
I have never had martial arts lessons before, is this right class for me?
Yes, we run through skills for women wanting to learn street smart self defence skills in a supportive environment. If you would like to gain some new skills with a great group of people then this is the program for you. This workshops suits all fitness levels and little to no level of previous experience.
What should I wear to class?
Participants should wear comfortable and loose fitting work out clothes.
How long is this workshop?
This workshop runs for 2 hours starting at 6:30pm.

This class will be held at Laverton Hub, Laverton - 95 Railway Ave, Laverton, Victoria. We will send through a confirmation email with a map and further details upon booking. This course is perfect living in suburbs nearby like: Altona Meadows, Point Cook, Williams Landing, Seabrook, Hoppers Crossing, Werribee, Tarneit & Truganina
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is plenty of parking around the area. Take the Werribee Line Train to Laverton Train Station then it's a 2 minute walk to the venue. Buses 414, 412, 498 also go to Laverton Station.
